The title pretty much sums it up (read: drinks and games industry event). On 1st May, Realise once again sponsored BIMA ThirstDay – a networking event for digital folk that happens once a month in London and Edinburgh.
In true Realise style, we wanted to kick it up a notch with a games night. There were games from the past, with original SNES MarioKart stretched in all its pixelated glory onto the big screen. Games from the present had people hurling virtual bowling balls (and not-so-virtual abuse) at the Wii. And for a taste of future games, a virtual reality rollercoaster ride on the Oculus Rift. (We were just missing a Russian guy to provide a timely push.)
The action took place at hip new Beer & Skittles, who contributed analog games in the form of pool and darts. Not to mention providing supplies for drinking games that ensued…
