The London office recently invaded Highbury Fields en masse to compete in the first annual Realise Croquet Match, the prize for which was the highly coveted ‘Golden Waistcoat’. Tensions were high, not just because of the searing heat and our mandatory croquet outfits consisting of knee high multi-coloured socks, braces and visors, but because we were faced with an unexpected battle to retain our small corner of the field.
Neighbouring game players outdid themselves with not just the usual Frisbees and Rounders bats; we fought for our corner against tightrope walkers, hurlers, and even Quidditch players (yes, they did have broomsticks).
As the match ensued it became clear that two players were rising high with their skills, Head of Web Dev & Mobile Greg Moss and Creative Director Dave Ward. Even a quick game of ‘speed croquet’ could not outdo the finalists. Bats were thrown, hoops kicked, words exchanged, but eventually Dave Ward was crowned as winner.
The London office grows in numbers monthly and so too does our passion for all things digital. But there is nothing quite like some ‘friendly’ competition (along with Pimms and a BBQ) to unite the team and remind us why we love working for Realise.
