We don’t give 100% of ourselves to our work …

I’m not saying we don’t care, just that we’re people and work is just a part of who we are and it isn’t the whole of us.  We all have lives outside of work and it’s important at Realise to recognise the fact that everyone who works for us is a person first and an employee second.  We’re all people with families, friends, pets, annoying landlords, broken down cars, doctor’s appointments, and all these things go to make up who we are and influence how we are at work.  We therefore recognise that people have non-work lives and we embrace it so that everyone knows that we care about them as complete people and not just someone who will do a job for us. Since I joined five months ago I’ve received a bundle of gorgeous baby clothes on the birth of my daughter, and the day after moving into my new house I answered the door to a delivery man carrying a bottle of champagne to help celebrate in my new home.  We’ve had people with broken ankles getting their desks set-up so they can keep their foot elevated, flowers for new starters, , thrown some killer 40th birthday parties and given out lots of pats on the back when people get promotions.

This thoughtful approach to you as a person means that when we’re working we have positive feelings towards our work and our company, and the company gets the best out of us.  So although work is not 100% of our lives, when we are working we all do give 100%.
