Ross, Web Developer
Once you strip away the pool table and the relaxed dress code, what is left of Realise culture? Thankfully, not much. I've never been forced to perform capuera or T'ai Chi in the car park. Our company slogan sits ignored on the wall. I've never even seen a nerf gun. It's almost as if all the horrible wackiness of the nineties passed us by. We're all getting on a bit. Some of us are even married. Others have been breeding. And the last snowboarder left years ago. Realise hasn't gone corporate, but no-one believes we're Californians either. We laugh at jargon. We feel uncomfortable sucking up to media types. We're a bit like you.
Kati, Administration Manager
People sometimes joke with me that I run the company. It's because my role is so varied ... I seem to get involved in everything. If you want to know something "ask Kati" - that's how it goes and I like it that way.
I'm also really proud that I have won an employee recognition award too (we do these at staff meetings). After 4 years with the company my role has really developed - one minute I'm being Office Manager, next I have my HR hat on, then I'm buying domain names and before the day is through I'm doing finance. I even have letters after my name thanks to Realise, after they supported me to become a qualified Accounting Technician.
Greg, Senior Technical Developer
Through the enormous power of the internet, I like to believe that I have the potential to bring a little sunshine into the lives of everyone in the world - except those who are not connected of course, who I will have to visit personally.
David, Web Designer
There's one word that springs to mind immediately:

Socks!
That's right - I don't have to wear shoes in the office, which provides an environment that's perfect for the careful nurturing of my inner sock fetishist. Today I'm wearing a fetching black and pink stripy combo that's guaranteed to have the clients begging for mercy.
Will, Account Manager
When I joined Realise way back in January 2001 I said to myself:
'Will, you've done well. Stick at it for 3 years, get some great commercial experience, then you'll easily be able to get a job at another company and your career will be made.'
Well, those 3 years have been and gone, I'm still here.
The work is varied and interesting, I get to deal with some big clients and I feel as though I can make a difference.
It also helps that we have at our disposal a pool table (it's slightly less than world class standard, but who needs flawless baize and a straight cue) and there is a seemingly endless supply of Brown Brothers Australian red just down the road at The Waterfront!

Jonathan, Technical Architect
I police the coffee machine with an iron fist.
I enjoy explaining technical things in terms that anyone can understand (lie).
I wanted kittens on our intranet. I got my own way.
Rachel, Account Manager
Being the new girl in the office has been a really easy transition. Their affection for kittens has taken some getting used to but apart from that it's been easy to settle in. There are loads of people around to answer my (many) questions and expand my knowledge of the amazing world-wide web.
There's a really relaxed atmosphere but somehow everything gets done when it should do.
I think that's reflected in the quality of our clients, and the fact that we keep them. It was one of the things that made me want to join, that, and the pool table...
